Do you ever wonder who would win in a bout between Manny Pacquiao & Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Well if you didn't before, the debate has come up once again after Pacquiao defeated Timothy Bradley this past Saturday to regain the WBO Welterweight Title. As a result, boxing fans across the world are once again calling for Pac-Man to step into the ring with "Money". Pacquiao has won 2 fights in a row since being put to sleep by Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012 while Mayweather remains undefeated fighting guys who don't quite measure up to Pac-Man's pedigree. Since both guys are on winning streaks, wouldn't now seem like a good time to put these guys in the ring to see who is the best? Well, while the theory seems good, them actually fighting isn't close to happening at all. For years both fighters promotions have worked to get them to fight, but something always seems to kills the deal. From everything to drug testing policies and how much money is made by each fighter, no fight has been made to this point. The way I see it, if they haven't fought now, I don't think they'll fight at all. While I believe that Mayweather would win if they did fight, I think he is ducking the fight because he knows that Pacquiao is a serious threat to him finishing his career with a perfect record. Until these legends see eye to eye, we will all just have to hope the match happens and continue to debate who we think would win.
For this week's edition of Beer of the Week, I have decided to highlight the grand opening of Triple Crossing Brewing in Richmond, VA. This local brewery currently has 5 beers on tap: Single Hop Saison, Element 79 Golden Ale, Rye Pale Ale, Sweet Stout, & Falcon Smash IPA. This may not seem like many beers, but the brewery intends to expand their brews and will add variety to their Single Hop Saison by using different varieties of hops with each batch. After my first tasting today, the 2 beers that stood out to me were the Element 79 and the Sweet Stout. The Element 79 was everything you look for in your golden ales. A very smooth tasting beer that is 5% ABV and is a pleasure to drink year round. What stood out for me with the Sweet Stout is that while it contains your typical stout features it was very easy to drink for a dark beer. As for the other 3 beers, I thought they tasted good too and I'm definitely interested on what Triple Crossing will bring to the table next. If you are in Richmond this summer and are looking for something to do, make it a priority to visit Triple Crossing Brewing. For more info on Triple Crossing Brewing, you can visit their site: triplecrossingbeer.com.
That is all for this week. Until next time, Drink Responsibly and Enjoy Your Beer!
